Services and Fees

Grandfather and GranddaughterGenealogical and Family History Research
Carol offers research services on individuals or families for both the serious family genealogist and those just starting to learn about their past. Whether it's to fill in a gap or to reconstruct an entire family tree, assistance is available at many levels.

One of the unique parts of Carol’s service is that her final presentation includes the context of time and place where subject(s) lived throughout his/her life.  This brings them to life, providing a basis to recreate the environment of the times and often offering insights into decisions made by the individual or family.

Home and Building History
Whether you are needing documentation for Historic Markers or National Register designation, or simply curious about the previous occupants of your home or property, Carol can help you track down the information through deeds, abstracts, tax records and other sources.

Community, Church or Business Histories
Carol's extensive background and her knowledge of the Northeast Texas area make her the ideal person to research the history of your community, church or business. As with her genealogical services, Carol's report will include information about historical context and surrounding area.

Research Process
Carol begins each project by communicating with the client by email or telephone to determine the objectives of the task. She offers analysis of the information that they already have to see how she can build upon it. She and the client develop a research plan based on the record sources she thinks will be available. After research is completed (both Internet and onside research may be conducted - with travel as necessary and agreed upon in advance), Carol presents a final report that includes her findings and additional information pertaining to a typical lifestyle of the time and place. Photocopies, certified copies and transcriptions of documents are provided as they pertain to the subject. She may also offer recommendations for future research.
